In the interviews I learned that almost all the jobs are very dangerous and that many people get killed. For example Chris Thorsten stated, "You ain't an Iron worker unless you get killed...Men hurt on all jobs." Another example is Mr. Garavelli. He said that men still die even after new technology was created. Another big thing i learned was that work was taken very serious and it required a lot of time. For example Anna Novak stated that "On all the holidays, Xmas, Easter, Holy Week, Good Friday, you'd see the men coming to work with hip pockets bulging and take the foremen off in corners, handing over their half pints..." People worked on big holidays. Thats nothing like today.

With all this information I learned that it was a very hard time for people then.At this time people were beginning to get even more offended by increasing amount of racism. One African American woman wasn’t even able to join a union group because of her race. Also, many people who worked in a business were forbidden to provoke unions so they came up with ingenious ideas to spread the thoughts of unionizing. One woman, **Mrs. Marie Haggerty Maid** was a maid in a house for a rich person. She was tested when they left money on a counter. She new that if she took it she would have lost her job so she left it there and didn’t think twice, she new it was a test. That meant how much people didn’t trust other ethnicities back then. Also, I learned how tough people’s jobs were back then.**Chris Thorsten Iron Worker** said, “You ain't an Iron worker unless you get killed...Men hurt on all jobs…When I got hurt I was squeezed between a crane and a collar bone broke and all the ribs in my body and three vertebrae. I was laid up for four years."This was horrifying to me how dangerous jobs were back then. Not just for Chris but other people too like**Mr. Garavelli Stonecutter**and the silica people would get from grinding stones and many other people working to make our country as good as it can be.Those are the significances that I learned from those massages.
